What I learned from 9 1/2 Weeks

Fourth in a series from my memoir, Humble Pie

Chili Remedy

If you are unfortunate enough to accidentally get chili in your nose (my personal favorite), some other delicate area, or just one with too much heat, milk is the fastest way to cool it. For lips, soak them in the glass. Too much, sip milk until you feel better. Nose, eyelids, other, use a Q-tip or cotton ball soaked in milk. Dab the affected area. It will feel better on contact and take approximately ten minutes to diminish, depending on the strength of the chili, or you could you use Ms. Basinger’s method.

The video is a little racy.

About vsvevg

Hello, I'm Abby Smith. I started this blog in 2010 to write about the pursuit of a self-sustainable life in rural Mexico. In 2015, my then-husband and I moved to Nicaragua, where we created a successful farm-to-table and in-house charcuterie program for a high-end beach resort. In 2022, with mad butchery and cheese-making skills under my belt, I started a sustainable food systems consulting business. Happily, I also have more time for my first love-- writing about food and the complexities of the simple life.
