for Alexa

Far from me
you are happy
Happy in white snow
boots and mittens
you knitted yourself, happy
without me
the singed toes,
you, the frosty
nose of a continent

Picture me, happy
(it’s true!) in slapping
huaraches and long
sleeves in the heat
dancing with dirt
devils and wood-
smoke philosophies

What you may not
know, Dear One
is how often
I am drawn to the light
behind the sun-
set, not the dangerous view,
but, the overlooked splendor
of our commencement

Beneath the nimbus of the day
tinted with epiphanal twilight
I think of you

About vsvevg

Hi, My name is Abby, my husband Felipe and I are currently living at Rancho Santana, a resort in Nicaragua, facilitating their farm to table concept. My blog VSVEVG(very simple, very easy, very good) has been about life in rural Mexico, but for the time being will be about living in Nicaragua, farm to table, and whatever sundry stories present themselves.

  1. Abby … thank you for that lovely gift … I can visualize us both in the places we love … far apart but bound together (the best gift of all!) I love you – Lex
