About vsvevg

Hello, I'm Abby Smith. I started this blog to write about the pursuit of a self-sustainable life in rural Mexico. Then my husband and I moved to Nicaragua, where we created a successful farm-to-table and in-house charcuterie program for a high-end beach resort. With mad butchery and cheese-making skills under my belt, I now return to my first love: writing, as a freelance food and travel writer.

Beautiful poem, beautifully recited! The chirping noises coming from outside were a wonderful touch, haha 🙂 You recite poetry well, not everyone does. Looking forward to more in the future.

Oh Abby I LOVE this whole concept. How I love poetry! I listened three times. I have a hearing disability so it is me, not you. Then I looked up the poem so I could read the words and be sure I heard correctly. The squeaking sounds were a distraction until I read that it is piglets and then I fell head over heels in love.

I so look forward to this year of poetry. I love the written word, the spoken word (isn’t it delicious to be read to?) – so powerful! I have always said words are medicine, and you quierda are a healer.

Have you read Mark Nepo’s “I Bow To All”? I venture to say you offer that kind of friendship. I bow to you, your talent, your medicine, and your passion.

    Bravo.

    Barbara

I already love this year in poetry … makes me feel closer to you! You know how I am about poetry – basically lost – but how lovely to hear your voice move over the words. Perhaps I shall learn something!?
